My current consumption is comprised of 3 podcasts
The Daily-NYT (though I might switch to NPR)
NPR politics
99% invisible
But given I drive 6-7.5 hours a week , I’m usually running out of podcasts. Do any of you have a suggestion?

Stuff You Should Know and, as much of a douche bag as I think this guy is, Tim Ferris has a great podcast of interviews with leaders/masters in so many different fields.

Matt Farah / t he smoking tire is a good one. An hour or two long, twice a week, almost always good car talk.

I listen to the 538 podcast for politics (it is very left leaning though)
Stuff you should know is usually good, with a huge selection of topics
Men in blazers if you have any interest at all in soccer.
I’d also recommend Slow Burn. The second season just finish. First one is about the Watergate Scandal, second is about the Clinton impeachment and such.

Slow burn sounds fantastic!
I don't like the 538 one... kinda boring imho and too long; so it's not very consice.

I too like 99% invisible, perhaps you’d enjoy “No Such Thing As a Fish”, which is a more informal version of QI (Quite Interesting )
otherwise I enjoy:
Hamish and Andy - an aussie former drive time radio show
Judge John Hodgman - comedy court where minor complaints (he says she says how to load dishwasher) are disputed.
Mission To ZYXX - improv scifi comedy seriel
Our Fair City - post apocalypic sci-fi seriel set in a singular city build on the remains of Hartford, and run by a distopian version of a life insurance company.

I’ve just started the other day. each episode is pretty short, but its been going since 2012 so it was a good one to play while I was working on my car last night.

I just did about half of the first episode. I like it. I needed another sci fi podcast while I wait for the next Edict Zero to come out.
That's great too btw and so is we're Alive.

but they are usually very interesting. It reminds me a lot of Paul Harvey’s “The Rest of the Story”
“Ear Hustle”
Its basically conversations with prison inmates about what life is actually like on the inside.
“Lehto’s Law” Steve Lehto discusses his experiences as a lawer specializing in automotive laws. Most specifically Lemon Law, but he frequently goes into other topics.

Edict Zero is great but the wait between episodes is huge. We're Alive is a little campy but it's a good Zombie story.

Hello from the Magic Tavern and The Adventure Zone I listen to for DnD fantasy hum or.
Welcome to Nightvale has its own weird spin on fictional public radio. Creepy, weird stuff happens and everyone goes on with their day.
The thrilling adventure hour was a good listen but they finished up if you want old ti me radio feel.

Disney Dish - History and the business of the Disney company
Ridiculous History - the name says it all
Hardcore History - really, really good deep dives on major historical events. Dan Carlin is a great story teller.
Tested - The Untitled Adam Savage Podcast - Adam (from Mythbusters) and friends talk about making, movies and occasional politics.
Talking Toons - Rob Paulson (Pinky, TMNT, many more) talks with fellow voice actors. Very up beat and fun. Trial the ones with Maurice La Marsche (The Brain) and Billy West ( Ren and Stimpy (both!) and Fry from Futurama)
Dinner with Racers - The name says it all again. A wide range of racers have light and sometimes heavy discussions over food and drinks. Try Jerry Punch , Rick Mears or find your favorites.

Containers - A short series that discusses how the global supply chain works. Remarkably interesting.

Hardcore history. best one is Prophets of Doom
Stay tuned w it h Preet, We the people live. Joe rogan is ok, but ever since he moved to his new studio I think the show has gone downhill.
If you really want to be terrified of AI, Waking up.
